Q: Can customers still buy gift cards until the retirement date?
A: New Private Label GiftCards can no longer be purchased or ordered. Sales and new activations were discontinued earlier this year as part of the planned retirement of the product.

Q: Will existing gift cards still be redeemable after the product retires?
A: Gift cards that have already been activated before 31 December 2025 will remain redeemable for an additional 12 months, until 31 December 2026.
After 31 December 2026, these cards will no longer be processed through myPOS systems. Merchants will receive a final report with closing balances, and from that point onward, any further refund or customer claim must be handled directly between the merchant and their customer.
Gift cards that have been purchased but not activated (including those with a balance already loaded) cannot be activated after 31 December 2025.

Q: How can I get a refund for my existing balance?
A:

  • For gift cards purchased but not activated by 31 December 2025 (with or without a balance loaded):
    • Activation will no longer be possible.
    • myPOS will refund the issuance fee automatically in mid-January 2026 to your account.
  • For activated gift cards with remaining balances:
    • Cardholders can continue to use their balance until 31 December 2026.
    • After that date, any refund requests must be handled directly by you, the merchant, in line with your refund policy.

Q: How long will I see gift card balances and history?
A: You will continue to see your gift card sales, activations, redemptions, and balance data in your myPOS account until the product is fully retired on 31 December 2026.
We recommend exporting your data before this date, as access to historical information will be removed once the programme is closed.

Q: Can I export my gift card sales data?
A: Yes. You can export your complete gift card data (including activations, redemptions, and outstanding balances) directly from your myPOS account.
We advise all merchants to export and securely store this data before 31 December 2026.

Q: Are there alternative ways to offer prepaid balances or credits?
A: For now, we cannot offer alternative products.
We will keep you informed if new solutions become available in the future.
