What is QR Digital Receipt?
QR Digital Receipt lets your customers get a receipt for a card payment by scanning a QR Code on the terminal screen – no app, no account, and no need to share an email address or phone number at the counter.
After every approved card payment, the terminal shows a scannable QR Code. The customer scans it with their phone's camera, and a full digital receipt opens straight in their phone's browser.
QR Digital Receipt doesn't replace anything you already offer. Email, SMS, printed, and no receipt options all work exactly as before – the QR Code is simply an additional option in the receipt menu.
Available on
- Smart Android devices: Carbon, Ultra, Pro, Flex
- Classic devices: Go and Go 2
How it works
- QR on terminal – after an approved card payment, the terminal automatically displays a scannable QR Code on-screen.
- Receipt in browser – the customer scans the code with any phone camera. A full digital receipt opens instantly, with no app and no login required.
- View or save – the receipt page lets the customer download it as a PDF, choose their language, and retry automatically if their connection is slow.
Using it on your device
Smart Android devices (Carbon, Ultra, Pro, Flex)
- Complete the card payment as usual and wait for the card scheme animation (e.g. VISA/Mastercard) to finish
- The QR Code appears automatically on the payment confirmation screen – no menu selection needed
- The customer scans the code to open their receipt. You can also use "Send receipt via" to send it by email or SMS instead, or print it if your account supports printing
- Press the X on the screen to return to the home screen
The QR Code appears automatically once the payment is approved.
Flex device layout
On Flex, the screen adapts depending on whether printing is enabled on the merchant account: it shows either "Send receipt" alone, or "Send receipt" and "Print receipt" together. The QR Code is always shown prominently. Press X to dismiss the screen.
Left: QR with “Send receipt”. Right: QR with “Send receipt” and “Print receipt”.
Classic devices (Go and Go 2)
- From the Receipt menu, select option 1 – “Digital Receipt via QR”
- The QR Code fills the full screen, making it easy for the customer to scan
- The code stays on screen until you press the green O button to confirm Done. The Back button is available on every screen
Go follows the same classic-device menu flow shown below for Go 2. If your Go's menu differs, use its Receipt menu equivalent.
Select option 1 from the Receipt menu, then the QR Code fills the screen.
What your customer sees

- A language selector is available for international customers
- If the page doesn't load right away, a built-in “Try again” button handles it – no need to escalate

Retrieving a past receipt
If a customer asks for a receipt after the fact, you can retrieve it from your Payment App:
- Open the myPOS Payment App
- Go to Activity
- Select the transaction, then Transaction details
- Choose Digital Receipt via QR to bring up the code again
What information is in the QR Code
QR Digital Receipt was built with data minimisation in mind. The QR Code and receipt link only carry what's needed to look up the transaction – nothing that identifies the cardholder personally.
| Included in the QR Code | Not included |
| Terminal ID (TID) | Cardholder name |
| Transaction reference (STAN) | Card number (PAN) |
| Transaction date and time | Email address or phone number |
| Link to the web receipt page | IBAN or bank details |
The receipt itself is served from myPOS infrastructure and supports multiple languages.
Troubleshooting
Most issues resolve on their own within a few seconds. Here's what to check first:
| Issue | What to do |
| The customer's phone won't scan the QR Code | Modern phones scan QR Codes natively through the camera app. Confirm it's a reasonably current phone, and check the terminal screen is clean and well lit. If it still doesn't work, offer email or SMS as an alternative. |
| The receipt page doesn't load | The page has a built-in retry – wait 2–3 seconds and try again. If it keeps failing, note the transaction (date, time, approximate amount) and contact support. |
| No QR option is shown | QR receipts require an internet connection. If the terminal is offline, use email, SMS, or print instead until connectivity is restored. |
| The customer wants a receipt for a past transaction | Open the Payment App, go to Activity > Transaction details, and select Digital Receipt via QR. |
| The amount or merchant details on the receipt look wrong | Don't dismiss this – contact myPOS support with the transaction date, time, and details so it can be checked. |
| Does QR work for TWINT, Satispay, or IRIS payments? | Not yet. QR Digital Receipt currently covers card payments only. Support for these methods is planned for a future release. |
Need more help?
If an issue doesn't resolve after a retry, or you notice something that looks like it could be a data or privacy concern (for example, a receipt reaching the wrong person), please contact myPOS support at help@mypos.com with the transaction ID, date, and time so it can be looked into promptly.
