For some reason, my phone can't read the card that the client wants to pay with. What can I do?

What to Do if Your Phone Can't Read the Card

If you encounter difficulties reading a card with your myPOS Glass app, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Locate the NFC Chip:
  • Ensure the card is contactless. Only contactless cards can be read by your smartphone.
  • Locate the Near Field Communication (NFC) chip on the back of your phone. Hold the card against this chip until you see or hear a signal indicating a successful payment. This signal usually comes after the loading dots appear on your screen and an audible confirmation sound.
2. Alternative Methods:
  • QR Code Payments: If the NFC method fails, you can accept payments via QR codes. Enter the transaction amount in the myPOS Glass app, generate a QR code by using the Payment request functionaly in the app, and let your customer scan it with their mobile device. This will take them to a secure online payment page to complete the transaction.

By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth payment process even if the initial NFC attempt fails. Utilising the QR code payment option provides a reliable alternative for completing transactions.
