When your myPOS card is getting close to its expiry date, you can renew it yourself in just a few taps, right inside the myPOS mobile app. Your current card keeps working all the way up to its expiry date, and your new one is ready to pick up right where it left off - so your spending never skips a beat. This works for both Standard physical and Premium physical cards.
How it works:
- Open the myPOS app and go to Cards.Find the expiring card.
- An amber renewal banner will appear 60 days before the expiry date.
- Tap Renew card on the banner or notification.
- Choose your replacement card - physical, virtual, Premium, or Metal. Virtual cards are available immediately, while physical cards will be delivered to you.
- Confirm your delivery details. If available, you can choose courier delivery for faster, trackable shipping. Courier delivery is included with Premium and Metal cards.
- Review any applicable renewal fee and confirm your renewal.
That’s it! Once your new card is ready, you can start using it according to the activation instructions.
Frequently asked questions
When can I renew my card?
You can renew your card from 60 days before its expiry date, up until the end of the expiry date. We'll remind you so you have plenty of time to act.
I can't find the option to renew my card. Where is it?
The renewal option appears once your card is within 60 days of expiry. Open the Cards section, look for the amber banner on the expiring card, and tap Renew card. If your card isn't due to expire within 60 days yet, the option won't be shown.
How do I renew my card?
You can renew right in the myPOS app:
- Tap Renew card from the expiry banner on your card or from a notification.
- Choose your replacement card type.
- Review your card and delivery details, then confirm.
Your renewal is complete once you confirm.
What card options can I choose when renewing?
It depends on the card you currently have:
- Standard physical card – renew as a new Standard physical card, switch to a virtual card, or upgrade to a Premium card.
- Premium physical card – renewed with the same Premium design, so your benefits continue without changes.
Will my current card keep working while I wait for the new one?
Yes. Your existing card stays active until its expiry date (or until your new physical card is activated). This means you can keep spending without any gap. Once the new card is activated - or the old one reaches its expiry date - the old card is automatically marked as expired. No action is needed from you.
What happens if I choose a virtual card?
Your virtual card is issued and activated instantly, so you can use it for online payments right away and add it to Apple Pay or Google Wallet if you like. Your existing physical card stays active until its expiry date. Keep in mind you may need to update your card details with any merchants where the old card was saved.
Can I renew the same card more than once?
Each expiring card can be renewed only once. This prevents duplicate cards from being issued.
What if my card has already expired?
Once a card has expired, it can no longer be renewed. You'll need to order a new card instead.
Can I edit my details when renewing?
Yes. When renewing a physical card, you can review and update details such as the name on the card, the company name on the card, your mobile number, and your shipping address before confirming. This helps make sure your card is produced and delivered correctly.
I have a Premium card — what are my renewal options?
Premium cards are renewed with the same Premium design, so your benefits and experience stay exactly the same. You'll be asked to accept the Premium card Terms & Conditions to continue, and your Premium subscription automatically continues with the new card.
Can I upgrade to Premium when renewing?
If you have a Standard physical card, you can choose to upgrade to a Premium card during renewal. You'll see the available Premium options with their monthly price and key benefits before you decide.
Please note: customers in Germany on an account plan are not eligible to order Premium or Metal cards.
How will I know my renewal was successful?
You'll see a confirmation screen once you've finished. For physical cards, it confirms your new card will soon be on its way along with the expected delivery time. For virtual cards, the new card appears in your card list as active straight away.
I activated my new card, but the old one still shows as active. Why?
Your old card is automatically deactivated once your new card is activated. If it still appears as active, please make sure you have completed the activation of your new card in the app.
Note: When switching from a Standard physical card to a Virtual or Premium card, the existing Standard physical card will remain active until its expiry date.
