IRIS Payment Service – FAQs and Updates

What is IRIS?
- IRIS is an instant payment method in Greece that allows customers to pay by scanning a QR code displayed on a POS device or at checkout using their bank’s mobile application.

Is IRIS mandatory in Greece?
- Yes. Under Greek regulation, support for IRIS payments is mandatory for:

• POS devices
• Cash registers
• ERP systems

Supported myPOS Solutions

Which myPOS devices support IRIS?
- IRIS is available on the following myPOS solutions:

Enablement & Setup

1. Is IRIS enabled automatically for new merchants?
   - Yes. All newly onboarded merchants are automatically IRIS-enabled.
2. What about existing merchants?
   - Existing merchants and devices are also onboarded automatically, provided all enablement criteria are met.

Which software versions are required?

POS must be updated to the latest version of the following apps:

• For Carbon & Ultra v.2.3.2 
• For Pro v.2.3.4 f
• Payment App: v.5.6 (all smart models)
• ECR-POS Connect: v.1.5.8
• Go / Go 2: v.4.20
• Combo: v.4.16.1

Transactions

What transaction types are supported with IRIS?
- Currently, only Sale transactions are supported.

Are refunds or voids available?
- No. Refund and void transactions are not supported by the IRIS system at this stage.

How to Accept IRIS Payments

On Traditional POS Devices

• Go 2: Press F1 to access the transactions menu
• Combo: Press ^ to access the transactions menu
• Select IRIS as the payment method

On Smart POS Devices

1. Open the Payment app
2. Enter the transaction amount
3. Select IRIS above the keyboard
4. The QR code is displayed for the customer to scan

Can IRIS be used with cash registers or ERP systems?

- Yes. IRIS is supported via the ECR-POS Connect app.

How does IRIS work with ECR or ERP integrations?

- If the connected cash register or ERP supports IRIS:

• The IRIS payment is initiated directly from the ECR or ERP
• The POS device displays the QR code for customer payment
