To start using your myPOS account, you need to verify your identity in the myPOS app. The process is completed on your phone and usually takes just a few minutes.
What you’ll need
- The myPOS app on your phone
- A valid passport, national ID card, residence permit, or driving licence
- Good lighting when taking photos
- A stable Wi Fi or mobile data connection
- A quiet place where you can record a short video selfie on your own
- We may ask you for a recent proof of address document
Before you begin
- Use the original physical document
- Do not use screenshots, scans, or printed copies
- Make sure the full document is visible and clear
- If a proof of address is requested, it must show your home address, not your business address
- Accepted proof of address documents are listed in the app
Steps to verify your identity
- Log in to the myPOS app. If identity verification is required, you’ll see a prompt on screen.
- Select your nationality, document type, and issuing country, then follow the instructions in the app.
- If prompted, allow access to your camera, microphone, and location.
- Take a photo of your identity document. If your document has two sides, you’ll need to capture both the front and back.
- If the image is unclear or cannot be read, you’ll be asked to retake it.
- If required, upload proof of address.
- Record a short video selfie by following the instructions on screen.
- Submit your details for review.
What happens next
- Your documents will be checked automatically. If the upload fails, you’ll need to start verification again.
- Once submitted successfully, you’ll see a confirmation screen in the app.
- If proof of address is needed, we’ll let you know in the app, by email, by push notification.
- In some cases, we may ask for additional documents to complete verification.
- Once checks are complete, we’ll notify you If we need anything else.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
As a regulated payment service provider, myPOS is legally required to verify the identity of every customer before we can fully activate an account and enable payment services.

Is the process secure?

In order to help protect your information:
- Data is encrypted during transmission and storage
- Verification data is stored on secure servers
- Access is restricted to authorised personnel only
- Security systems are monitored and updated continuously

You can still log in and view your account, but you won’t be able to take payments until verification is complete.
Do other users on my account need to verify their identity too?
Yes. Anyone with access to payment operations on the account must complete identity verification too.
