Your myPOS account has a new IBAN – here’s how to send transfers to it correctly

After the recent migration, your myPOS account now uses an Irish IBAN (starting with IE). Some bank apps and systems don’t handle this automatically, which can cause transfers to fail.

This guide explains the correct transfer details, the most common reasons for failed transfers, and how to fix them in specific banking apps.

1. Transfer details

Use the following details when sending money to a myPOS account:

Field Value
Recipient name Recipient with Irish IBAN (e.g. MYPOS.BG EOOD)
Bank name myPOS LTD
IBAN Your myPOS IBAN (starts with IE)
BIC MPOSIE2DXXX
Bank address Floor 1, 12 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin
Country Ireland
Transfer type SEPA transfer (or international transfer if SEPA is not available as a separate option)
Fee type SHA

2. Common reasons transfers fail

  • Wrong transfer type
If you select a local or domestic transfer, it won’t go through. myPOS accounts require a SEPA transfer. If your bank doesn’t list SEPA as a separate option, select international transfer instead.
  • Country set to Bulgaria
Some banking apps automatically fill in Bulgaria as the IBAN country. Since the IBAN starts with IE, the country must be changed to Ireland manually.
  • Fee type not set to SHA
SEPA transfers require the shared fee option (SHA). Selecting a different fee type can cause the transfer to be rejected.
  • Outdated banking app
Some older app versions can’t process the transfers correctly. Updating to the latest version usually fixes the issue.

3. Step-by-step instructions by bank

Below are specific instructions for the banks where issues are most common. If your bank isn’t listed, follow the general transfer details in section 1 and make sure you select SEPA (or international) transfer, set the country to Ireland, and choose SHA as the fee type.

UBB (United Bulgarian Bank)

  1. Select international transfer
  2. Enter the recipient name (e.g. MYPOS.BG EOOD)
  3. Enter your myPOS IBAN (starting with IE)
  4. Enter bank name: MYPOS LTD
  5. Set fee type to SHA

Post Bank

Post Bank may automatically set the country to Bulgaria. This causes a validation error because the IBAN starts with IE (Ireland). You’ll need to change the country manually.

  1. Change the country to Ireland
  2. Enter the recipient name (e.g. MYPOS.BG EOOD)
  3. Enter bank name: MYPOS LTD
  4. Enter your myPOS IBAN (starting with IE)
  5. Set fee type to SHA
