For some reason, my phone can't read the card that the client wants to pay with. What can I do?

To resolve this issue, try to locate the Near Field Communication (NFC) chip on the back of your phone and hold the card against this chip until you see and hear a signal that the payment has been successful. Also, make sure that the card is contactless as only contactless cards can be accepted through your smartphone. An alternative would be to accept the payment via the QR code payment option.
