What to Do if Your Phone Can't Read the Card
If you encounter difficulties reading a card with your myPOS Glass app, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Locate the NFC Chip:
- Ensure the card is contactless. Only contactless cards can be read by your smartphone.
- Locate the Near Field Communication (NFC) chip on the back of your phone. Hold the card against this chip until you see or hear a signal indicating a successful payment. This signal usually comes after the loading dots appear on your screen and an audible confirmation sound.
2. Alternative Methods:
- QR Code Payments: If the NFC method fails, you can accept payments via QR codes. Enter the transaction amount in the myPOS Glass app, generate a QR code by using the Payment request functionaly in the app, and let your customer scan it with their mobile device. This will take them to a secure online payment page to complete the transaction.
By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth payment process even if the initial NFC attempt fails. Utilising the QR code payment option provides a reliable alternative for completing transactions.
Please note that acceptance of certain card types (such as American Express or JCB) may not be available on your device, depending on the operating system.
